2022 CBC Project Team Awards Higher Education (Large) First Place

Fairfield University’s Charles F. Dolan School of Business’s new, 85,000-SF, state-of-the-art academic facility is designed to engage students in analytical thinking while providing an interactive learning environment with case-based classrooms.The team, including Gilbane, The S/L/A/M Collaborative, and Fairfield University, worked cohesively to deliver the project within budget and on time for the Fall 2019 opening. Techniques such as Gilbane’s Advanced Planning and Scheduling (AP&S) and Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) ensured the project remained on schedule and trades were coordinated transparently despite challenges, such as expansive sitework, long-lead custom materials, and a unique curved building frame.
