87 to 85 Trumbull Street Move Project

New Haven, CT

Yale University wanted to build a new economic center where an existing early-19th century two-story structure already stood. This New Haven landmark was originally built as a residence in 1807 and then later moved to 87 Trumbull Street and rebuilt in 1871. In an effort to preserve the historic building, Yale selected Petra Construction as the General Contractor to assist with its relocation from 87 Trumbull Street to 85 Trumbull Street, approximately 500 feet down the road. A project this complex in nature required a cohesive and attentive team proficient in communication and collaboration.
