Meriden Commons II is 76-unit mixed use and income housing project comprised of 3 buildings constructed to passive house standards and certification. This is the second project, developer Pennrose, architect WRT, structural engineer MacIntosh, mechanical engineer McHugh, civil engineer AECOM and Haynes Construction completed. After the successful completion of phase 1, we held a lesson-learned meeting at the developer’s headquarters in Philadelphia. We collectively reviewed the teams’ strengths and weaknesses which solidified the unparallel success of phase 2. The same team is now working on concurrent phases in Hartford with a 3rd phase and another project in Torrington in preconstruction.
