HARTFORD, CT – The Connecticut Building Congress (CBC) held its 16th annual Project Team Awards banquet last night at the Bond Ballroom in Hartford. Owners, architects, contractors, engineers, and consultants packed the ballroom, drawing record attendance as CBC also continued its celebration of its 60th Anniversary. 

The CBC Scholarship Fund distributed $4,500 in scholarships to three promising graduating high school students pursuing professional studies in design:

This year’s judges included Gerald C. Gerletz, P.E. (Senior Vice President, STV,Inc.), Dr. Raymond J. Perreault, Jr. (Professor, Construction Management, Department of Manufacturing and Construction Management, Central Connecticut State University), Elizabeth Velez (President, Velez Organization).

Longtime CBC Scholarship Fund chair, Clifton J. Cotter, who retired after nearly 40 years on the Scholarship Fund, was honored for his commitment to the organization.

CBC is Connecticut’s leading construction industry networking organization. Since 1952, its members have included prominent owners, engineers, architects, attorneys, general contractors, developers, cost consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and testing laboratories. CBC’s educational, networking and philanthropic programs encourage the growth of its members and the sustained progress of the industry.
