The Diversity Trifecta:
Policy, Strategy, and Best Practices

Policy: Minority set-asides and procurement are well-intended, but can also be confusing, divisive and difficult to implement.  Hear about recent policy changes and challenges and learn about the results of the 2013 Disparity Study Report on Connecticut’s progress toward achieving its goals and recommendations going forward.

Strategy:  With 80 million baby boomers exiting the American workforce between 2010 and 2030--that's more than 10,000 per day--Connecticut’s construction industry leaders need to prepare now to compete for the best and brightest staff.  Learn what industry leaders are doing currently to tap the future workforce, which will come in large part from women, minorities, and young rising professionals.

Best Practices:  Hear from a respected, successful minority business owner about the business advantages of good diversity practices, both as an employer seeking a diverse workforce and as a diverse business entity.
