Bare the Truth.  Are you really covered?  Insurance--You never know what you have until you
need it

Tuesday, October 13, 2015

Commercial liability insurance coverage is a topic that many construction professionals do not focus on until they need it.  Unfortunately, by that time it might be too late.

A denial of coverage for a claim arising from property damage or personal injury occurring on a construction project could have devastating consequences for the insured parties, leaving them exposed to substantial liability and protracted litigation.  And, some owners and contractors may mistakenly believe that being listed as an additional insured provides them adequate coverage.

The three panelists will provide insight for owners, developers, contractors, and design professionals with a general overview of such issues as:

  1. How best to verify that appropriate liability coverage for a project is in place
  2. The scope of coverage for defective work
  3. Additional insured coverage
  4. Common exclusions
  5. The insurer’s duty to defend vs. duty to indemnify
