CBC JANUARY PROGRAM ON ASSET MANAGEMENT:
SHOULD YOU BUILD NEW OR RENOVATE EXISTING?

HAMDEN – The Connecticut Building Congress will host a program on asset management on Tuesday, January 10, 2012 at The Cascade in Hamden, CT. Owners face challenges when evaluating whether to build new or to renovate existing structures. The management of these assets requires a comprehensive evaluation from different perspectives – real estate, construction, and design. This program provides an interactive forum to discuss the factors that an owner should consider when deciding to build new or renovate.

CBC EVENT DREW RECORD PARTICIPANTS TO DISCUSS UCONN HEALTH CENTER AND BIOSCIENCE CONNECTICUT 

FARMINGTON – The Connecticut Building Congress hosted Courtney Hendricson (Town of Farmington, Director of Economic Development) and Tom Trutter (University of Connecticut Health Center, Associate Vice President, Facilities Development & Operations) at the UConn Health Center Cell & Genome building Tuesday night. Ms. Hendricson focused on Farmington’s development efforts and the benefits to the community from the expansion and renovation plans for the UConn Health Center. Mr. Trutter provided a deeper insight into the plans for the Health Center.

HARTFORD – State officials Pasquale “Bud” Salemi (Deputy Commissioner, Department of Construction Services), Allen Herring (Chief Engineer, Department of Construction Services), and Jessie Stratton (Policy Advisor, Department of Energy and Environmental Protection) joined moderator Richard Connell (The S/L/A/M Collaborative) at the Connecticut Building Congress (CBC) October program.

CLOSE COLLABORATION AND TEAMWORK HIGHLIGHTED AT CONNECTICUT BUILDING CONGRESS’ ANNUAL AWARDS DINNER

HARTFORD – Distinguished members of Connecticut’s construction community assembled at The Bond Ballroom in Hartford on Tuesday night for the annual Project Team Awards dinner hosted by the Connecticut Building Congress (CBC). The winning project teams were recognized for their achievement in project quality excellence through close collaboration. The more than 200 attendees included developers, architects, contractors, subcontractors and consultants.

CONNECTICUT BUILDING CONGRESS ELECTS NEW BOARD AS IT APPROACHES ITS 60TH YEAR

MERIDEN – The Connecticut Building Congress (CBC) recently elected its 2011/2012 Board of Directors. Outgoing president James LaRosa, LaRosa Building Group, LLC, commented, “With the slow economy, the board this year worked exceptionally hard and that resulted in a very stable year for CBC.”
